On 25 January 2024, Klaudia Majcher presented her new book titled ‘Coherence Between Data Protection and Competition Law in Digital Markets’ (OUP 2023) at a conference celebrating the Data Protection Day. The event was organised jointly by the Council of Europe, CPDP, and the European Data Protection Supervisor in Brussels. Following the book presentation, the invited panelists, Alexandre de Streel and Sebastião Barros Vale, offered their comments. The discussion that followed focused on a number of questions, including the role of data protection in merger control, the recent CJEU’s Meta Platforms judgement, as well as institutional collaboration between competition and data protection authorities.
